Make plans for when you return
A great way of adjusting to the office lifestyle when you come back from a holiday is to actively plan for when you come back. If you leave with tasks unfinished or without looking at what you will need to catch up on when you’re back, you will make it a lot harder for yourself. Although you might not be able to get everything done before you leave, it is a good idea to get as much finished as you can. You can also then make a plan on the tasks you will need to complete when you return from your summer holidays so there are no surprises.
Manage your time effectively
It might be tempting to get through all of your emails and tackle all of the tasks that are most urgent, but this isn’t always the best approach to take. If you are a morning person then you might want to tackle the hardest tasks first thing, but if you’re not you might want to leave that until later. If you have a lot of meetings to catch up on when you return, it might be worth politely asking what the meeting is for and how important it is. By rescheduling meetings that are not essential, you can spend your time working on things that are more important.
